2010 Awards

2010 awards from the National Beekeepers’ Association included first placings in two sections for our Manuka and Kamahi honey and a second place for our Native Bush honey.

Seasonal Varieties

We rely on nature, so our honey is seasonal. Each year we have a varied harvest which can include Manuka, Native Bush, Kamahi, Autumn Gold, Clover and Honeydew.

Bee Pollen

We also harvest bee pollen which is a great source of vitamins. We have pollen traps on our hives between September and March. Our pollen is frozen, dried then cleaned, and kept as granules (not encapsulated). (more…)

Clover Honey

Texture is creamy, taste is described as “perfect for fresh toast” with a subtle yet sweet aroma to chase.

Native Bush Honey

A buttery texture, with a beautifully sweet “lip smacking” clean taste. An aroma that is pleasant, fragrant and appealing.

Autumn Gold Honey

Light texture, well balanced from entry to finish, rich and sticky. Mellow taste, with slighty toasty notes coming through. Aroma speaks of Cherry Blossom mixed with honeycomb.

Beech Honeydew Honey

A silky texture which has hints of flavour like berries ,nectar and caramel.  Aromatic reminder of a day in the lakeside bush. Enticing like a spring morning.

Kamahi Honey

A smooth, soft texture followed by an intense full bodied flavour likened to molasses or burn’t toffee.  Described as having a “fresh, sophisticated bush” aroma.
